Suzhou is a city on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Lake Taihu in the province of Jiangsu, China.

How old is the city?
Some tribes naming themselves as “Gou Wu” were located in this region during the Shang Dynasty, 2500 years before. During King Ted Lin, the city has became the capital city and metropole of that time.
How can I get to Suzhou by plane?
Suzhou doesn’t have a passenger airport so you’ll need to use airports in Shanghai. You can use Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG ICAO: ZSPD) for international flights. Pudong airport is approximately 120 km away from Suzhou but you can get to the city by shuttles which take you to the city in one and a hour bus trip.
How can I get to Suzhou by train?
Suzhou is close to Shanghai-Nanjing railway. If you get to Shanghai, you can get to the city by this railway. If you go Suzhou from Nanging (¥67) it may take 1 and a half hour. If you go from Shanghai, the trip may take 40 minutes and may cost ¥26.

Where is Pan Gate?
Pan Gate is in the south-west of Main Canal. The gate is a very important historical landmark of the city. Originally built during the Warring States Period in the state of Wu, historians estimate it to be around 2,500 years old. Pan Gate was the only gate known for the ancient Suzhou in the walls protecting the city.
Where is Xuanmiao Temple?
Xuanmiao Temple (Chinese: 玄妙观) is a prominent Taoist temple with a long history, located at the center of ancient Suzhou City.
